Olusegun Adetu is an accomplished economist and financial expert with over three decades of experience in the banking and financial services sector. He has a proven track record in corporate Banking, microfinance operation, cooperative services, and wealth-building initiatives. As the Chairman of Maxwelt Collaborative, he leads the organization with a vision focused on collaborative contribution, cooperative management, shared prosperity, empowerment and wealth building for sustainable growth.
He holds B.Sc in Economics, M.Sc in Economics and MBA in Financial Analysis from the Lagos State University, Lagos Nigeria.
Mr Olusegu Adetu has held several high-ranking positions in notable financial institutions, contributing significantly to their success and growth. Some of his key roles include, Afribank Nigeria Plc – Senior Banking Roles. Equity Bank – Managerial Position. NBM Bank (Now Sterling Bank) – Key Leadership Roles. Avalon Microfinance Bank Limited as Pioneer Managing Director.
Throughout his career, he has demonstrated expertise in financial management, banking operations and microfinance services. As the Managing Director of Avalon Microfinance Bank, he played a critical role in establishing and growing the institution, particularly in empowering small and medium-sized businesses.
Adetu is a Certified Microfinance Practitioner. A Full Member, – Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM). Member – Chartered Institute of Auctioneers of Nigeria (CIAN) and a Council Member of the Institute of Economics of Nigeria (INEN). He is equally a tax Practitioner and Member of Lions Club International.
Adetu is actively involved in several professional bodies where he contributes to shaping industry standards and fostering professional development in the fields of economics, finance, and management. His role in these bodies underscores his commitment to ethical business practices, leadership in economic development, and promoting financial inclusion.
